Englewood is described as one of Florida’s best kept secrets. Life in Englewood is undoubtedly perfect for those who are looking for a more rural setting along without sacrificing a coastal lifestyle. Englewood is situated right on the Gulf Coast of Florida, meaning beaches are everywhere. Englewood is an unincorporated community that is partly in Sarasota County and partly in Charlotte County on Florida’s West Coast. Englewood Beach is one of the most popular in the town, and residents love lesser-known options like Blind Pass Beach. This area of the Gulf is known for washing up fun collectibles like shark teeth and beautiful shells, and natural attractions like sand dunes make our beaches stand out from the rest. Englewood is a laid-back “Old Florida” beach and fishing town. Even though Englewood is a small town, it’s likely to surprise anyone with its quality of life. The relaxed vibe is perfect for those who want to enjoy a beachy lifestyle away from the bustling city life. The slow pace and natural beauty are a big part of the quality of life. But don’t be deceived! There are lots of things to do and see in Englewood – offering the perfect combination of scenery, entertainment, shopping, and food. The downtown area is nicely painted with plenty of pastel colors and nice murals found throughout. It is not a fancy gentrified area, but a real working village. For those who enjoy arts and crafts, there are a number of locally-run boutique shops who sell goods from local artists. Entertainment is never lacking in Englewood, and one of our favorite parts of living in this city is getting to experience the festivals that happen every year. If you love dining out, you will enjoy the copious local restaurants around Englewood with a variety of ethnic cuisines. Englewood does not disappoint in terms of public parks and trails. A nature lover’s delight, you can venture down a hiking trail to explore the natural beauty of five different habitats for a variety of wildlife. Stump Pass Beach State Park is peaceful and offers a unique landscape with trails and lots of tree stumps along the shoreline. You might notice several areas marked off on the beach that are designed to protect the sea turtle nests. If you get the opportunity to watch one hatch or return to the ocean, depending on the time of year, you will have the memory of a lifetime. The sunshine state is the perfect place to hit those golf clubs! The warmth of the Florida sun helped Englewood ranked 3rd in the Best Place in America to Live and Play Golf by Golf Digest. Surround yourself with magnificent panoramas, enjoy the serene island shores, and hit that hole in one!
